Joy is a state of mind and an orientation of the heart, a settled state of contentment, confidence, and hope that the Holy Spirit wants to grow in us. Paul had to learn it (Philippians 4: 11-13.
We’re asked to walk in the strength of the Holy Spirit. Am I easily set off when things go wrong or people irritate me, or am I able to keep a godly perspective in the face of life’s irritations?
The Holy Spirit permanently indwells us, teaches us, reminds us, comforts us, guides us in truth, convicts us of sin, enables us to bear much fruit, heals us, and empowers us.
