Recalibrating is the intentional moving from what we know to what God can do. QUESTIONS FOR FURTHER REFLECTION: Can you describe a place in your life this last year where it seems like Jesus is trying to adjust your trajectory? What makes this change difficult? If you make the change, what do you fear the results will be? What do you hope the results might be?

Hope Pursued

Luke 2: 8-20; Matthew 2: 1 & 2, 10-12; Daniel 2: 48; 6: 28. A rudder can’t steer a ship unless it is moving. Action-Risk–Reward

Hope Celebrated

God has called us to be agents stirring hope in others. Luke 1: 31-40 Mary declares the promises of the Lord over her life. Her SOUL magnifies the Lord and her SPIRIT rejoices in God her (and our) savior.

What Does Jesus Say About Leadership in the Church?

We have been looking at the church constitution. Two areas of leadership have not been active but need to be defined. Board Trustees are mandated by NY. What about Elders and Deacons and their qualifications in the New Testament? Elders are appointed and Deacons are chosen. I Timothy 3: 3; Titus 1: 5-9

Why I’m Thankful for the Church

Why I’m Thankful for the Church? We have partnership in the Gospel as Jesus completes his work in others’ lives. We are co-partakers of grace (Philippians 1: 3-11). We pray for love to abound and approve what is excellent to be filled with righteousness (i Thessalonians 3:12; 2 Thessalonians 1:3).

I Love My Church

Ephesians 5: 25-27 God has provided the Church as a way for us to be made new. Titus 3:5 New life throught the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 2: 19-21 The Church is not a perfect place but it is a good place with Jesus as the Cornerstone. Hebrews 10:6 and Galatians 6: 9 In what ways are we the Church through teaching, praying and forgiving?

My Samaria

What about Samaria in the Great Commission (Matthew 28)? Jews hated the Samaritans; Pharisees insulted Jesus, calling him a Samaritan (John 8:48) the ongoing and endless task of the Holy Spirit is to help us find our Samaria.

Becoming Laborers in the Harvest

The fields are ready; pray for laborers (Matthew 9) and we have been praying for our missionaries. Matthew 10: 14 Jesus sends out the 12 Acts 1:8 missionary work began where they were at the moment.
