The Adventure: Editing the Packing List

Philippians 3: 7-15 In pursuit of courage we need to face our fears: change, the unknown, fear of what others think, fears of hurts from our past. To focus on mission we need to hold loosely to the methods of the past. In pursuing the mission the method changes…this generation is different so it demands change in method to reach it.

Agape Love is the deep and abiding affection of God and Christ for each other and for us. I Corinthians 13

Patience

We’re asked to walk in the strength of the Holy Spirit. Am I easily set off when things go wrong or people irritate me, or am I able to keep a godly perspective in the face of life’s irritations?

Fruit of the Holy Spirit

Galatians 5: 22-23 I Corinthians 10: 13 The Holy Spirit gives us the power we need to reject old, sinful desires (Galatians 5: 19-21). We are predestined to be like Jesus: YOU CHOOSE temptation or escape with your eyes on Him.

Vocal Gifts of the Holy Spirit

Tongues (1) speak to God; (2) sign to unbelievers; (3) Edify believers Interpretation of Tongues interprets Divine utterance into recognizable language Prophecy for edification, exhortation or comfort I Corinthians 14: 1-5; Acts 2; Matthew 3: 17; Psalm 139: 17; I Corinthians 14: 40
